Mics Picked Up Travis Kelce’s Heartfelt Message to Chris Jones After Chiefs’ Super Bowl Win

The climactic end of Super Bowl LVIII produced a plethora of emotional moments ranging from heartbreak for the San Francisco 49ers to pure ecstasy for the Kansas City Chiefs, and one moment between Travis Kelce and undefined was no exception.

The Chiefs tight end hugged Jones as confetti rained on the field, telling the two-time All Pro defensive tackle that he was “the greatest to ever do it.”

“Way to believe, dog,” Kelce told Jones. “Way to lead us, dog. You’re the greatest to ever do it in my eyes, baby. Ever to do it, dog.”

In Sunday’s thrilling 25–22 win over San Francisco, Mecole Hardman caught the Super Bowl-winning touchdown, but Chris Jones was arguably just as instrumental in clinching the victory.

Jones, who finished the game with four tackles and two quarterback hits, made one particular game-changing play in overtime. On a 49ers’ third-and-4 in the red zone, Jones rushed Brock Purdy and forced him to throw an incomplete pass even though several 49ers receivers were open.

The 49ers had to settle for a field goal on their first overtime possession, and the Chiefs would answer with a touchdown to win Super Bowl LVIII.

Both Kelce and Jones now have three rings to show for their eight years together in Kansas City, though all eyes will be on Jones this offseason as the star defensive tackle prepares to enter free agency.
