Ohio woman enters stranger’s home, pets dog, cleans dishes

VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — A 31-year-old woman has been arrested after she reportedly entered a residence and made herself at home, petting a dog and eventually doing the dishes.

Ewing told deputies she had been awake for about two days. Authorities say she appeared to be under the influence of drugs, WSAZ Channel 3 reports.

Officials with the Vinton County Sheriff’s Department say Ewing is accused of entering a home through a back door at about 9 p.m. Monday, according to KWQC Channel 6.

Ewing sat down on a couch in the home and began petting the resident’s dog, reports say. She then washed the dishes before leaving.

Deputies found Ewing knocking on the doors of other homes in the neighborhood.

Ewing told deputies she had been awake for about two days. Authorities say she appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Ewing was arrested and taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court next week.
