Boulder County Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed that no suspicious items were found after a bomb threat lead to the evacuation of Niwot High School today.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, it received two Safe2Tell messages that suggested a possible bomb threat at the school, 8989 Niwot Road.
While the second tip lead the sheriff’s office and the St. Vrain Valley School District to evacuate the school “out of an abundance of caution,” when deputies swept the school with assistance from the Westminster Police Department’s K9 teams, nothing suspicious was found, the release stated.
The first message about a possible bomb threat was received Monday, and the sheriff’s office began investigating immediately with assistance from the district. Deputies interviewed two students with assistance from Mead Police Department officers. That first threat was deemed not credible, but extra law enforcement was present at the school this morning.
The second message was received this morning and provided additional context to the previous threat.
