U.K. restaurants claimed for 10.5 million subsidized meals in the first week of a government program designed to help the restaurant industry recover from the impact of coronavirus.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak’s “Eat Out to Help Out” program aims to encourage people to visit restaurants in August by giving them 50% off the cost of their meals up to 10 pounds ($13) each.
