Video shows suspect punch Catholic deacon in random subway attack

Police this week released surveillance video of a man sucker-punching a Catholic deacon inside a Bronx subway station.

Frederick Kurr, 74, was having trouble swiping his MetroCard at the Kingsbridge Road D train station around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect — leaving the station through the adjacent turnstile — briefly watched him before socking him in the face, footage released Thursday by police shows.

“Don’t shout,” the attacker allegedly told the victim when he yelled for help. “I just felt like punching someone.”

Kurr, who refused medical attention on scene, later went to Montefiore Medical Center for neck pain, cops said.

Kurr serves at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the Belmont neighborhood.

“To get sucker punched for no reason at all … that’s sad,” his daughter, Heidi Kurr, told the Post Wednesday. “I am scared for him. I worry about him because he is 74.”

His attacker remained at large Friday.
