A 65-year-old woman from Florida ended up taking on a 300-pound attacker who was half-naked after she caught him trying to break into her car.

Grandmother Clarese Gainey heard a noise outside her Gainesville apartment on Sunday morning and so grabbed her baseball bat as she went outside to investigate.

'I grab my bat, I braced myself, and I eased the door open,' Gainey, who is a former high school softball player, said as she recalled the encounter.

Antonio Mosely then allegedly charged at Gainey realizing he wasn't going to get away with the car. Gainey was primed and ready.

'I took that bat and hit him upside the head like 'pi-yah!' He said "Ow!"' Gainey recounted to WGFL.

Mosley ended up running to a nearby mobile home park but ended up leaving behind his pants, shirt and a sock, giving the police K-9 unit plenty of ways to track his scent.

He was caught relatively quickly and was found to be wearing a new pair of pants.

Police also found cocaine in his pocket.

Officers brought Mosely back to Gainey to identify him. She says she could easily identify the man not only from his appearance but by the injury to his head from where she had hit him

Mosley was charged with two counts of burglary and drug possession. Authorities are holding him in the Alachua County Jail.

'He better be glad I didn't have a gun,' Gainey said. 'Because I would have shot him. But this is my gun right here,' she said, pointing to her trusty baseball bat.

Gainey stated that Mosely was lucky she didn't have a gun on her as he attempted to break into her car
