Liza Minnelli: Judy Garland would’ve ‘laughed’ at Gaga’s ‘A Star is Born’

Legendary actress Judy Garland would have cracked up at Lady Gaga‘s remake of “A Star is Born,” according to Garland’s daughter, Liza Minnelli.

“She would have laughed!” Minnelli said, chuckling herself as she predicted her mother’s reaction during an interview with TV’s “Entertainment Tonight.”

Still, Minnelli, 73, said her mother would have given last year’s Gaga take on Garland’s 1954 film — itself a remake — a chance while watching it.

“And then she would have gotten into it,” Minnelli told “ET.” “I can hear her saying, ‘OK, let’s go! Great to the end!'” she said, still laughing.

She had higher praise for Renée Zellweger, who is set to play Garland in a biopic due later this year, calling her a “wonderful” actress.

“I just hope they don’t do what they always do. That’s all I’ve got to say,” she told the entertainment show with a knowing smile.
