ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington County man is facing two charges of animal cruelty for throwing two dogs off the balcony of a Courthouse residence, according to the daily crime report.

Arlington County Police dispatched officers to the 1400 block of N. Taft St., Monday, around 2:30 p.m., for the report of an animal complaint. Arriving on the scene, officers learned that a suspect had thrown two dogs off a balcony. Before police arrived, the dogs were found and taken to nearby animal hospitals. Both dogs succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.

ACPD arrested Zachary Hanson, 26, of Arlington, and charged him with two counts of cruelty to animals. He is being held without bond.
