SEVEN CORNERS, VA — Virginia Department of Transportation crews replaced the Wilson Boulevard bridge in the Seven Corners area over the weekend of Aug. 3-4. A time-lapse video shows the work being completed in a little over two days.

Work began Saturday with removing the old eastbound bridge over Arlington Boulevard, which had been in use for over 60 years. The first new bridge segment went up early Sunday morning. Once components of the new bridge deck were in place, crews poured concrete to join them together.

The bridge replacement promoted the closure of eastbound Wilson Boulevard traffic over the bridge. Arlington Boulevard traffic was detoured, as crews removed and replaced the bridge segments from this road.
