2 Bodies Found In Bellport After Man's Suicide: PD
Suffolk County police said a man killed himself while fleeing officers in East Patchogue.
BELLPORT, NY — Two bodies were discovered in a Bellport home by officers trying to contact next of kin after a man killed himself while fleeing police in East Patchogue Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police did not identify the trio.
According to Suffolk County police, at 10 a.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop at the driver of a 2003 Honda Civic at the intersection of Route 112 and Montauk Highway in East Patchogue.

The driver pulled over and a passenger exited the vehicle before the driver sped off, police said.
A short time later, the car crashed into a utility pole on Washington Avenue. Officers approached and found the driver slit his throat, police said. Officers administered first aid; the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.

Detectives went to a home on Doane Avenue in Bellport to notify next of kin and discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside, police said. An autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner to determine the cause of death and identify the victims, police said.
