Man fatally jumps from NYC rooftop after stabbing rival during dispute

A man was stabbed in the head by a lunatic, who then jumped to his death from a rooftop in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday morning, cops said.

The two men were arguing inside a building near Canal Street and Orchard Street around 10 a.m. when the older man used a knife to stab the 43-year-old victim, cops said. It was unclear what the dispute was about.

After the stabbing, the madman went to the fifth-floor rooftop of the building and jumped to his death, cops said. The man who was stabbed was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and is expected to survive.

A man who was doing work in the building told The Post he saw a bloody butcher’s knife and blood-spattered walls inside the stairwell.

A worker from a shop across the street said he saw the man go to the corner of the roof and jump.

“He didn’t say anything,” said the worker, who asked to remain anonymous. “He didn’t make a sound. He just jumped.”
