Jedward have taken aim at Noel Gallagher after the Oasis legend said he was refusing to wear a facemark in an unearthed podcast.

The 53-year-old is thought to have made the comments during an appearance on the Matt Morgan podcast from earlier this year – before the law on masks came into force – branding the rules ‘b******s, and ‘f**king depressing’.

‘When it’s a f**king law… It’s not a law. There’s too many f**king liberties being taken away from us now,’ he fumed.

‘I don’t give a f**k. I choose not to wear one. If I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else …

‘If every other c***’s wearing a mask, I’m not going to catch it off them, and they’re not going to catch it off me.

‘I think it’s a p**s-take. There’s no need for it … They’re pointless.’

Hitting back at his comments, Jedward lashed out at the Don’t Look Back In Anger star on social media, questioning if he was ‘okay’.

‘Hi @NoelGallagher, you seem really angry maybe wear a mask,’ the X Factor favourites penned.

‘Lockdown and the pandemic has been intense on us all but after hearing this interview are you OK?’

When that didn’t appear to get the message across, John and Edward Grimes took things a step further, bringing Noel’s Wonderwall lyrics into it.

‘Today is gonna be the day @NoelGallagher that we’re gonna throw it back to you,’ they teased.

‘By now you should’ve somehow realised what you gotta do and wear a mask because we’re gonna be the ones that save you and after all we’re your Wonderwall. Love Jedward and @Liamgallagher.’

A 2020 remix we didn’t even know we were desperate for.

Noel isn’t the first famous face the Lipstick singers have directed their ire at today, with the pair also suggesting that JK Rowling’s upcoming book, Troubled Blood, is perfect material to burn on a fire.

The Harry Potter author has sparked controversy with her latest offering – the fifth in her crime franchise – which sees private detective Cormoran Strike going up against a serial killer who disguises himself in women’s clothing to commit crimes.

Addressing the new release, Jedward wrote: ‘Does anyone need firewood this winter! JK’s new book is perfect to burn next to a Romantic fire. Aww get all cozy and comfy can’t wait.’

Tagging Rowling in a previous tweet, they added: ‘#TransRightsAreHumanRights Understanding is the first step to acceptance @jk_rowling and only with acceptance can there be recovery It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!

‘Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving!’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Noel’s reps for a comment.
