Alabama's run to the NCAA tournament will mean a few extra bucks for coach Avery Johnson.
As with any contract, performance incentives were built into the deal when Johnson arrived three years ago.
Ultimately, that'll mean $50,000 in bonuses for the NCAA run.
Johnson's contract called for a $25,000 bonus for reaching the tournament and $25,000 for each win up to the Final Four.
The appearance bonus was $50,000 in each of his first two seasons with Alabama and dropped to $25,000 in Year 3.
Should Alabama reach the Final Four under Johnson, he'd get $50,000 for each win there.
Johnson will also receive a bonus of $150,000 for completing the contract year as part of his amended deal from August. He receives that amount as long as he's still employed June 1 of every year remaining on his deal that runs through 2023.
Johnson will make $2.9 million a year for the contract that has five seasons remaining.
Alabama assistant coach John Pelphrey will also get a little extra for the tournament appearance. His deal calls for a bonus equal to eight percent of his base pay of $425,000 a year. That works out to $34,000 to be paid within 30 days.
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl will receive $250,000 in bonuses for a 2017-18 season that included an SEC regular-season title and coach of the year awards.
