New Coronavirus Cases In West Orange Include First Responder
West Orange saw seven, new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the span of a day. Patients ranged in age from 18 to 57, officials said.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange continues to see a rise in cases of the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19, authorities reported Wednesday.
According to Mayor Robert Parisi, the township saw seven, new confirmed cases of the coronavirus since Tuesday. Patients ranged in age from 18 to 57.
There are now 34 confirmed cases of the virus in West Orange. Of those, two remain hospitalized and 32 are recovering at home, Parisi stated.

West Orange has also seen its first confirmed case among township employees, the mayor said: a first responder.
“All required steps for isolating employees and members of the public that had come in contact with this employee have been taken,” Parisi said.

The employee is recovering comfortably at home, he added.

“The expectation is that this number is going to continue to grow over the coming days as more testing is becoming available and more residents are getting tested,” Parisi said. “We are still in the early stages of this… let’s do our part and stay home.”
