Belarus will control any nuclear weapons placed within its territory, President Alexander Lukashenko said after Russia voiced plans to station its nuclear arms in the neighboring state.

“We here will operate everything that there is in Belarus,” he said in a televised address to the nation and parliament on Friday. He was answering a question on who will be in charge of the weapons.
