Rats hold wild boxing match in subway station while cat ‘referees’

Call them Tyson Furry.

As if rodents weren’t behaving strangely enough in 2020, two rats were recently filmed trading blows in a subway station while a curious cat looked on from the sidelines.

“I saw those 2 rats running and chasing each other,” said videographer Cheez Goh, who happened upon the bizarre boxing bout while she was returning home from work July 8 in Bedok, Singapore.

In the ludicrous video, which currently boasts 145,000 views on Goh’s Facebook page, the scrappy squeakers can be seen skillfully pummeling each other’s faces while standing on their hind legs like miniature kangaroos. The footage gets even stranger when a black-and-white feline enters the frame and stops to observe their fun-size jabs and hooks.

The clip concludes with the brawlers scurrying their separate ways, presumably frightened off by the unexpected spectator.

However, the shenanigans reportedly continued off-screen.

“One ran away from the camera, one came toward the camera where I was standing,” describes Goh, who says she “freaked out,” causing the critter to flee.

“That’s when the cat saw that the rat was running and charged toward it,” the camerawoman explains. “However, the cat missed because the rat went under the drain.”

Needless to say, the wild video has gone viral online.

“Omg what a rare sight!! Standing tall and they obviously not bothered with you,” observed one Facebook fan of the rats’ brawl.

Goh replied that the rats were too absorbed in their tussle and that the cat didn’t “dare to interrupt!”

“Tom n Jerry part 3 !?” quipped one social-media comedian.

Although in the realm of rodent grudge matches, the moment doesn’t compare to this shocking clip of a rat throwing down with a pigeon in a New York City street.
