Ghost kitchens, those restaurants offering takeout and delivery only without seating, became all the rage during the pandemic, and now five newcomers bring a range of foods in Downtown’s Gateway District, just west of the Stratosphere. Japanese sandwiches and rice boxes, Hawaiian plate lunches, mochi doughnuts, jerk dishes, clever Indian sliders, and chicken wings find a home in one location at 333 W. St. Louis Ave. But all only offer takeout and delivery.

Gyu+ offers Japanese-inspired sandwiches and rice boxes. Togarashi chips; sandwiches with mushrooms, wagyu beef and truffles, eggs, steak, and chicken; and boxes filled with veggies and rice, Iberico chorizo and rice, or pork belly and rice make up the menu. Gyu+ , 702-971-9466, is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Order online with DoorDash.

Matiki Island BBQ specializes in Hawaiian plate lunches with beef ribs, kalbi short rib, or teriyaki chicken or beef, each with two scoops of white rice and a choice of potato and macaroni salad or a tossed green salad. The restaurant also offers Dole Whip. Matiki Island BBQ, 702-866-0944. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Takeout and delivery available online.

Good Kitchen specializes in comfort foods with a modern Southern flair such as Cajun seafood fries; twisted ranch nachos with Cool Ranch Doritos topped with cheese, chicken, bacon, and ranch; and peach cobbler funnel fries. Caribbean dishes such as jerk barbecue wings and jerk lamb chops are served on Saturdays and Sundays, but jerk Alfredo pasta, jerk fries, and jerk nachos make the menu until they sell out. Good Kitchen, 702-704-0307, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Mochidon’s menu features mochi doughnuts, a cross between the sweet chewy Japanese rice dessert and a classic American fried doughnuts, in six flavors: matcha Oreo, double chocolate, ube coconut, cookies and cream, horchata cinnamon, and milk and cereal with Fruity Pebbles on top. Mochidon takes orders in advance at 702-715-8979 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and starting Saturday on April 17.

Zest India offers Indian sliders called pav stuffed with lamb vindaloo, fried fish, fried chicken, Impossible vegan kabobs on vegan bread, or the Bombay pav with a spiced potato patty with tamarind and green chutney. Vegetarian and meat-filled curries range from saag chicken, lamb vindaloo, or butter chicken to dal kale, shahi cauliflower, or chana masala. The restaurant also has roti and naan options. Zest India, 425-588-6224, is open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Harold’s Wings keeps its simple with chicken wings, chicken strips, and a chicken strip sandwich. Open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Order at 702-841-8407.
