A blood test showed that the bartender who had a fatal crash after working at Tiger Woods’ restaurant also had cannabis in his system in addition to alcohol, a report said Wednesday
The toxicology report said that Nicholas Immesberger, whose parents are suing Woods over the death, had a blood alcohol level of .256 and levels of THC well above Florida’s state reporting limits, according to CNN.
Immesberger’s family said in a wrongful death lawsuit that employees at The Woods Jupiter served their son far too much alcohol, knowing he was an alcoholic.
The 24-year-old bartender was said to be traveling “at a high rate of speed” on Federal Highway in December when he lost control of his 1999 Corvette and swerved across three lanes before overturning in Port Salerno, according to the Palm Beach Post.
A lawyer representing Immesberger’s parents said in a press conference Tuesday that video of their son drinking at the restaurant on the day he died was “destroyed by the Woods.”
Woods addressed the death of the employee in a statement on Tuesday.
“We’re all very sad that Nick passed away,” Woods told reporters at Long Island’s Bethpage Black course. “It was a terrible night, a terrible ending. And we feel bad for him and his entire family. It’s very sad.”
