Rapper and actor Ludacris posed for a photo with Tahoe deputies as a gesture of appreciation for their help managing a crowd after he performed at the Palisades Tahoe resort, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.

The show on Saturday, Feb. 24, followed the men’s giant slalom and U.S. Ski Team autograph-signing events at the two-day Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup competition. The Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling rapper drew “a massive crowd” at a free concert that night that also featured the rock band Eve 6, sheriff’s officials said the following day on X (formerly Twitter).

The size of the crowd made the exit from Olympic Valley “challenging,” the post said.

“As the excitement peaked, the crowd gathered around Ludacris’ vehicle, prompting our deputies to step in and assist with his safe departure from the area,” officials said.

“Ludacris showed genuine appreciation and graciously posed for a photo with our deputies afterward,” the post added.

Officials said, “Despite the bustling crowds, everything else went remarkably smoothly, thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved.”
