New Recreation Trail Planned For Greenfield

Organizers say the new trail will allow users to walk, run and bike for exercise and transportation, connecting them to parts of Greenfield.

GREENFIELD, WI — Project leaders heading up a new recreation trail in Greenfield are inviting members of the public to an open house to learn more about the project as well as hear suggestions from area residents.

The project is called the Powerline Trail, and the first phase the path will begin with a connection to the Oak Leaf Trail at 105th and Cold Spring Road. The trail will extend east in the WE Energies power line corridor to 43rd St., and eventually all the way to Lake Michigan. The corridor is located south of Howard Ave.

The meeting will be held at p.m. at Greenfield City Hall on Wednesday, April 1. It will be an open-house format. Members of the public are invited to visit, view the displays, ask questions and provide input. People can also comment at www.powerlinetrail.org.
