Mother Killed Quadriplegic Daughter: Philly Police

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia mother is facing murder and related charges after allegedly causing her quadriplegic daughter's death last year.

Yelena Nezhikhovskaya, 63, has been charged with murder, drug delivery resulting in death, obstruction, and false reporting, according to court documents.

Nezhikhovskaya is accused of giving her quadriplegic daughter, Yulia Nezhikhovskaya, 32, a lethal dose of medication and alcohol, Action News reports.

The official cause of death was ruled drug intoxication and the manner was homicide.

Yulia Nezhikhovskaya died on Dec. 17, 2018 in their home on the 9600 block of Bustleton Avenue, according to Philadelphia Police.

Yelena Nezhikhovskay was taken into custody in connection with her daughter's death on Nov. 16, court records show.

She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 4.
