Portsmouth Police: A Ladder & Break-In Attempted On East Main

Police say three juvenile donned masks and gloves and used a ladder in an attempt to steal a gaming console from an East Main Road home.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Police say three juveniles donned masks and gloves and used a ladder in an attempt to break into an East Main Road home. The incident happened around 1:27 p.m. on Tuesday. A witness called police to say three males had been spotted in the backyard. The three were wearing masks and gloves and had moved a ladder onto the side of the house in an attempt to get inside.

Officers caught the three in the neighborhood. They were released to their parents. The case is also being referred to Family Court.

Their names are not being released because they are underage.
