A California woman was chomping at the bit — and at a jogger — when she took offense to her dog getting pepper-sprayed, say cops.

Alma Cadwalader has been arrested for suspicion of battery, robbery and false imprisonment, after she allegedly sank her teeth into the arm of a female jogger on Jan. 3, reported TV station KTVU.

The bizarre assault occurred Thursday morning at Anthony Chabot Regional Park, said the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department.

The jogger, who has not been identified, was running when a mystery dog came upon her. Fearing she would be attacked, she shot pepper spray at the suspect’s dog, say officials.

The dog’s owner then approached the jogger a short time later, punching and tackling the victim before allegedly sinking her teeth into the victim’s arm.

“It was pretty obvious it was not canine bites but rather human teeth,” police Lt. David Philups said. “In addition to the bite, there was punching, kicking. This dog owner stopper her in her tracks on the trail.”

Cadwalader was in the park with two dogs at the time of the attack — a Rottweiler mix and a large yellow or tan dog, say cops.

Police released cell-phone shots of the suspect taken by the victim. Cadwalader’s mother brought in both canines Friday to police headquarters.
