President Trump surprises Staten Island couple at their wedding while guests chant ‘USA!’

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A Staten Island couple had a surprise wedding crasher Saturday at their “Make America Great Again”-themed reception: President Donald Trump.

The president unexpectedly dropped by the wedding reception at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., surprising newlyweds Nicole Perosi and PJ Mongelli.

As seen in video of the event, the president walked into the reception and waved at the roaring crowd while Secret Service agents made sure guests didn’t get too close.

The president then motioned for the couple to come over to him. When they did, Trump gave the bride a hug before placing his arms around the newlyweds while guests documented the moment on their smartphones and chanted “USA! USA! USA!”

Fox News reported that the bride and groom are big Trump fans and sent multiple requests to him in hopes that he would attend. They even went so far as to decorate the reception area with flags and Trump 2020 signs.

In a separate video, where Trump talks to the newlyweds and members of their family, they remind the president that the bride took pictures with him when he visited Staten Island in 2016.

A man in the video who said, “I’m the father, I’m the father,” thanked the president for attending the reception while a woman off-camera added, “You have all supporters here ... We have about 230 guests from Staten Island."

Upon hearing the news, Trump pumped his fist and responded, “Staten Island, I love it!”

“Staten Island is the greatest," the president added.

“We love you so much,” the family repeatedly told the president while he embraced the bride and shook hands with the groom.

“You’re a class act that you came in here," the woman said.

The couple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
