Bowser Announces Possible Date For Reopening DC
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed Thursday the District could be ready for a phased reopening as soon as Friday, May 29, provided the city continues to meet metrics laid out by the D.C. Department of Health.

250-Car Parade Helps Veteran Celebrate 100th Birthday In Burke
After U.S. Army veteran Fred's 100th birthday party was canceled due to the coronavirus, a call for neighbors to help with a drive-by parade was posted on the Burke Patch. Once that message went out to our subscribers, responses came flooding in as residents volunteered to participate. Burke neighbors turned out in numbers as he turned 100 on Sunday, May 17.

Loudoun Coronavirus Testing Site Closes Early Due To Huge Turnout
Loudoun officials had to close their coronavirus testing site in Leesburg more than three hours early because of the huge number of people wanting to get tested during the one-day event. The testing site at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park reached capacity before 2:30 p.m. Officials had hoped to keep the testing site open until 6 p.m.

Wolf Trap Cancels 2020 Performing Arts Season Due To Coronavirus
All 2020 summer performances at the Filene Center, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods and The Barns at Wolf Trap have been canceled due to the new coronavirus, the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts has announced.
This is the first time in nearly 50 years the foundation will not host live performances through the summer, according to the announcement.
Tysons Corner Center Opens: Status Of Other NoVA Malls
Tysons Corner Center is fully open as of Tuesday, May 19, according to mall owner Macerich. Northern Virginia has a mix of malls that opted to close or remain open with businesses under coronavirus-related restrictions.
