Great Neck Man Awakes To Find Masked Men Inside Home

Police said one of the men wielded a screwdriver.

GREAT NECK, NY — Nassau County police are investigating a burglary that took place Thursday afternoon in Great Neck.

On Thursday at noon, a 26-year-old man was sleeping in his bedroom at his Westminster Road home when he was awoken by footsteps coming from his parents' bedroom next door, police said.

According to police, when the man went into his parents' bedroom, he found two men, one with a screwdriver in his hand. The two strangers then ran past him and left the house. They were seen entering a white SUV driven by a third person. The car was last seen southbound on Westminster Road.

The suspects are described as being approximately 40 years old and 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches. They were wearing dark pants, dark sweatshirt and ski masks over their faces. Police said it is believed they entered the home through an unlocked door.
