Royal Caribbean boots ‘idiot’ cruise passenger for risking life to take selfie

She was cruisin’ for a bruisin’.

A Royal Caribbean passenger was slammed as an “idiot” for risking her life by climbing over a balcony railing aboard the Allure of the Seas to shoot a selfie during a cruise in the Caribbean, The Sun reported.

“Just witnessed this on Allure. What an absolute IDIOT. You cannot fall off of a ship unless you are acting like a moron!” passenger Peter Blosic wrote in social media, where he posted a photo of the woman in a blue bathing suit with her hands above her head.

Blosic quickly alerted ship staff about the reckless stunt.

“I showed the concierge. The staff captain then wanted to meet with me and get a copy of the photo. We easily determined the cabin number since it’s on the hump,” he said.

The woman was eventually booted off the ship when it docked in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Royal Caribbean says on its website that “sitting, standing, laying or climbing on, over or across any exterior or interior railings or other protective barriers, or tampering with ship’s equipment, facilities or systems designed for guest safety is not permitted.”

The company stresses that failure to adhere to the rules could result in the “removal from a ship at the next port of call.”

Earlier this week, a 23-year-old Carnival Cruise Line passenger was critically injured after falling over a railing and landing on a deck 16 feet below off the coast of Venice, La., according to Fox News.

Last year, Royal Caribbean banned a guest for life after he jumped from the 11th deck of the Symphony of the Seas, Fox reported.

According to a recent global study, 259 people have died while taking selfies between 2011 and 2017.
