Boris Johnson says he’ll go ‘Hulk’ on Brexit

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is preparing to go all Hulk on Brexit.

“The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets,” Johnson told the Sunday Mail.

The prime minister, who faces an Oct. 31 deadline to withdraw from the European Union or seek a delay if he can’t reach a deal, said the United Kingdom will break out of its “manacles” the way Bruce Banner did when he turned into his gigantic green alter ego.

“Banner might be bound in manacles, but when provoked he would explode out of them,” the prime minister said. “Hulk always escaped, no matter how tightly bound in he seemed to be – and that is the case for this country. We will come out on October 31 and we will get it done.”

Johnson’s comments were published a day before he is scheduled to meet with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Luxembourg.

Parliament approved a measure that calls for Johnson to seek to delay Brexit if a deal can’t be reached by mid-October.

Johnson, who took over for former Prime Minister Theresa May who failed three times to get Parliament to sign off on an exit, said he plans to withdraw one way or the other on Oct. 31.
