Undefeated boxer Travell Mazion, 24, was killed in a traffic collision in Austin, Texas, according to unconfirmed reports and social media posts from his grieving friends and competitors.

'Mazion was a kind, charismatic young man who lit up every room he walked into and brought excitement to fans inside the ring,' read a statement from Golden Boy Promotions, Mazion's promoter. 'We send out heartfelt prayers and thoughts to his family. May he rest in peace.'

Prior to confirmation of the tragedy, there were several reports of a serious car crash in Austin. 

'#ATCEMSMedics have obtained a Deceased On Scene pronouncement of 1 adult,' read a tweet from the Austin-Travis County EMS account. '2 adults txpt'd to Round Rock Medical Center, 1 by ground w/serious potentially life-threatening injuries & 1 by air w/critical life-threatening injuries Expect road closures.'

While authorities have not named Mazion, several boxers and boxing websites appeared to confirm the news.

'Sad to report the passing of the great prospect Travell @black_magic92 Mazion, in a car accident,' read a Facebook post from Supreme Boxing. 'Our condolences to the family and friends of Travell. RIP Champ.'

A spokesperson for his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, has not responded to the Daily Mail's request for comment, but there have been news reports of a traffic accident from Austin involving several cars. Authorities have not yet identified the victims

'I can't believe it,' wrote Vergil Ortiz Jr., another undefeated boxer. 'R.I.P Travell Mazion. For those who don't know him or never met him, he was a very talented boxer and one of the coolest people I knew. Always enjoyed watching him fight. Love you bro, watch over us.'

At 17-0 with 13 knockouts, Mazion was a rising star in the super welterweight division (154-pound limit), and had recently won a minor title, the vacant NABF crown, with a win over Fernando Castaneda at San Antonio's Alamodome in January.

'Travell Mazion I was shocked to hear the news about what happened,' the boxer Joseph Suniga wrote in a Facebook tribute. 'I want to let you know that you impacted us with your kindness and positive motivation.

'You where (sic) someone who we enjoyed watching do your thing in the ring under the bright lights and on the big stage. You will be missed and remembered as one of Austins (sic) great champions. We will make sure you are remembered as well.

'R.I.P. Champ. Praying for you and your family champ.'

In his final Facebook post, Mazion celebrated news that a man had been arrested for a 2019 car crash that left a local teenager dead.

'F*** Yesss,' Mazion wrote on Facebook. 'We have Justice!!! Lock his ass up.'
