• Tracee Ellis Ross, 47, just showed off her toned abs in a new workout video.
  • The High Note star swears by the Tracy Anderson Method to sculpt her body and stay fit.
  • She's been doing at-home workouts since March and sharing them on Instagram.

Tracee Ellis Ross always makes the best of things—and that includes her exercise routine. The High Note star, 47, has been doing home workouts from the Tracy Anderson Method recently, and—even when she doesn't exactly want to get her sweat on—she still does it with a smile. Oh, and with some ridiculously toned abs peeking out from Tracee's bright key lime crop and leggings set.

After starting with weighted leg lifts, the actress moves into weighted leg lifts while planking, both using a folding chair as a support. "She's going to try to get me to go right into the next exercise," Tracee says of trainer Tracy Anderson. "I'm gonna say no. I can't do it."

The Black-ish star has been following the Tracy Anderson Method for about seven years, and even though group classes are cancelled in 2020, she's been disciplined about following the workouts at home. In fact, she's been posting her workouts on Instagram since March, always in a fun outfit. The workout itself is a combination of free arms, ab-sculpting exercises, and weighted leg lifts, planks, and kickbacks, which tone the legs.

"I have to say that Tracy Anderson's workout the last five years has been really good for me," the Girlfriends alum told Health in 2017. "I find that, as adults, we stay so regimented in our movement, even if we get on a treadmill. The music changes all the patterns, and my body gets to move freely, so you feel amazing—which is ultimately the point of the workouts, too." At home, she blasts music while she's doing it, and in today's video, she breaks out in dance to a remixed Sia song (you know, when she's not "cussing up a storm" during the exercises.)

Apparently, Tracee loves a hot studio, too. "We are usually in a 98 degree studio. My makeshift home space is not nearly as hot but this is working and wonderful," she wrote on Instagram earlier this year. "I’m so grateful. Thank you Tracy for your spirit and care. I miss the beautiful energy of our studio space, the Tracy team and all the regular members. As usual, sending deep gratitude to all those working in essential industries and wishing everyone joy, love, and health."
