Three people were hurt, including one seriously injured, in a vehicle collision at the intersection of Timberline and Drake roads in Fort Collins Thursday morning.

A Fort Collins Police news release said Loveland resident Harley Freeman, 68, was traveling south on Timberline Road when Freeman struck a northbound 2014 Ford F-150 truck driven by Ashley Anderson, 18, of Cheyenne, Wyo., who was attempting to make a left turn on a red turn signal light.

Anderson’s passenger — Payton Spahn, 19, also of Cheyenne — was trapped inside the vehicle after Freeman’s 2019 GMC Terrain SUV hit the passenger side.

Police responded to the crash at 11:44 a.m. Rescuers were able to extricate Spahn, who was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.

Freeman suffered moderate injuries, and Anderson was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The intersection was closed for about three hours while investigators processed the scene. Police do not believe alcohol, drugs or speed contributed to the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending. Individuals with information about the collision who have not already given a statement to police are asked to contact Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-416-2224.
