Yonkers Housing Authority Holds Facebook Live on George Floyd

Former Governor David Paterson, Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins among guests who share personal stories of hope, hate, pain and inspiration

June 4, 2020 - The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers held a moving and poignant Facebook live event “George Floyd: Channeling Change.”

The program featured former New York State Governor David Paterson; NYS Senator and Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins; Westchester County Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins and The Rev. Julius Walls, Pastor, Greater Hood Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church who shared their personal stories of oppression and inspiration, hope and pain.

The program was moderated by Wilson Kimball, President and CEO of the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers.

“There are no words of gratitude I have to adequately reflect how very much I appreciated you sharing your stories and your personal life with myself and the audience,’’ said Kimball after the program. “I always thought I was a strong person, but your stories are those of warriors. Thank you for everything you do, every day, to make this a better world.”
