Any surprise in your bathroom is bound to give you the fright of his life, but being greeted by a massive huntsman is the stuff of nightmares.

'Old mate joined me for a shower. Meet my new housemate, one of the biggest huntsman spiders I've seen this summer!' he captioned the video.

The man recorded the scary ordeal and zoomed in on the spider showing it clacking its fangs.

'Just finished taking a shower and  I looked up and saw I had a visitor,' he said.

He then joked that the spider was about to brush his teeth and get ready before they head out.

'He's getting ready for dinner... a huntsman spider.'

Social media users joked that the spider was spying on the man while he showered and that the house now belonged to it.

'What a perv! I hope you told him to cover all his eyes,' one commenter joked.

'Give him a bedroom,' another wrote.

'You give him a name, thank him for controlling the insects and other spiders and say good morning to him each morning,' another user suggested.

'I usually just man up and call my girlfriend or Nan if the girlfriend is working shifts,' another confessed.

Huntsman spiders are quite common across Australia and can be found living under loose bark on tree, between rocks, or even the car's sun visor.

Despite their scary appearance, huntsman spider bites are non-toxic, but are said to be very painful.

ARE HUNTSMAN SPIDERS DANGEROUS?

The huntsman spider is not considered dangerous to humans.

The spider does possess venom and a bite can cause irritation but they are rarely known to attack.

Huntsman spiders usually choose to run away and hide rather than be aggressive.

They typically survive in homes or in the wild by eating pests including flies and various bugs.

They are native to Australia and similar species of huntsmen spiders can be found in the U.S. and most of the world.
