Ricarlo Flanagan, of ‘Shameless’ and ‘Last Comic Standing’ fame, dead at 40

Ricarlo Flanagan, a finalist on Season 9 of “Last Comic Standing” and actor on “Shameless,” has died. He was 40.

Flanagan’s agent confirmed his passing to Deadline, but did not cite a cause of death.

“Ricarlo was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life and a joy to work for. He will be missed dearly,” Stu Golfman of KMR Talent said.

Earlier this month, the comedian posted about contracting the coronavirus along with some of the brutal symptoms COVID-19 is known for.

“This covid is no joke. I don’t wish this on anybody,” he tweeted.

In replies to the post, he mentioned chest pains while discussing NBA star Kyrie Irving, who refuses to get vaccinated.

“Yeah tell Kyrie to take some of this chest pain and see how he feels,” he wrote.

His family in Cleveland, Ohio, started a GoFundMe, writing that he “suddenly passed away and sadly was far from his family.”

Flanagan is perhaps best known for appearing on “Last Comic Standing” in 2015, and had released his debut comedy album, “Man Law,” two years prior. He had recurring roles on Showtime’s hit show “Shameless” as well as “Walk the Prank” on Disney+.
