Occasionally one of the original supers crops up and we’re reminded just why they rose to fame as the standout models of their generation. One such moment happened last night, when Helena Christensen hosted an event with science-based skincare brand Noble Panacea in New York.
The Danish beauty shared a series of pictures showing her talk the talk at the dinner wearing a tomato-red slip with a strappy low-cut back. It was the kind of party dress a mere mortal could only dream of wearing. It fitted Christensen like a glove, without looking too racy for cocktail hour, while the colour, which she matched with a bright berry lip, brought out the tan she has no doubt been working hard on at her Catskills home.

A word or two on her hair: has anyone done the shaggy fringe and loose wave better? Christensen always manages to look as if she has been wild swimming in the morning, and emerged with mermaid hair by the afternoon (quite possibly true). Harry Josh and his Pro Tools helped finesse her glossy bohemian look, with Soo Park bringing the “summer sunshine” to her skin.

The slip dress is a failsafe choice Christensen’s crew (read: Cindy, Christy, Yasmeen) return to time and time again. Indeed, Shalom Harlow and Linda Evangelista were quick to jump into the comments section, cheering their friend on and praising her for all those glow-enhancing, cold-water dips.
“It’s hard to express the tender love I feel for my girls,” Christensen said recently. “We went through so much together, so many crazy moments, so many precious memories. Our lives were forever bonded in the most unusual way from a very young age.” The friends who slip dress together, stay together, it seems.
