Man pinned under tractor is pronounced dead, police say

Warren County man was pronounced dead Friday after being found pinned by a lawn tractor, authorities said.

Emergency responders were called shortly before 4 p.m. to the first block of Sand Hill Road in Blairstown Township. A woman dialed 911 after hearing her neighbor screaming, and reported the neighbor's husband may have rolled a tractor on top of himself, township police Capt. Scott Johnsen said.

Responders found the man in a stream with the zero-radius-turn tractor pinning him down, Johnsen said.

Firefighters with the Blairstown Hose Co. No. 1 lifted the tractor while police dragged the victim out.

He was unconscious and not breathing, police said.

Firefighters and police started CPR, which continued as the man was taken by Blairstown Ambulance Corps to Newton Medical Center, according to Johnsen.

Police described the victim, who has not been named, as a man in his 60s.

The county's medical examiner was continuing to investigate the cause of death, police said.
