The talented head chef of Cipriani Dolce in Grand Central Terminal has been missing since last weekend, police and his co-workers said.
Andrea Zamperoni, 33, who lives in Woodside, Queens, was last seen by his roommates on Saturday night after he finished a shift at the chic dining spot, the restaurant’s manager told The Post.
His co-workers called police on Monday when he didn’t show up to his shift and filed a missing person’s report, authorities said.
Cipriani Dolce’s manager, Fernando Dallorso, 53, told The Post in a phone call Wednesday that Zamperoni is a “sweetheart” and a hard-working talented chef.
“Chefs are known for being temperamental. This guy’s a sweetheart,” Dallorso said.
“He’s a family man. He’s got a brother in London and a mother in Italy,” Dallorso added.
Zamperoni has worked in Cipriani’s Grand Central Terminal location for a little more than a year, but has worked for the company for more than a decade, including a long stint at one of its restaurants in London.
Zamperoni’s brother also works as a chef for the fine-dining corporation in London.
“It’s very heartbreaking. He’s very respected here. He climbed very well in the corporation,” Dallorso said. “It’s a tragedy so far, but were very hopeful.”
