ELMHURST, IL — One thing is for certain with Tuesday's Elmhurst Park District election: Incumbent Kevin Graf was re-elected.

Graf got 61 percent, or 4,903 votes, in the race for three seats on the board. His six write-in opponents got a combined 39 percent, or 3,125 votes.

But DuPage County has not released the vote totals for each of the write-in candidates. That will determine who gets the two remaining seats up for election.

Contacted Friday, a representative of the DuPage County Clerk's Office said the numbers in write-in races would be released Monday.

The write-in candidates are incumbents Carolyn Ubriaco and Doug Ennis as well as Michael Errera, Elizabeth White, Meghan Scarsella and Ed Thomas.

In Tuesday's election, the local park district's race had more write-in candidates than any other contest in DuPage County.

In an email to Patch on Thursday, Ubriaco noted the uncertainty.

"I look forward to being re-elected, and I hope that is the will of the voters, though I understand that election results will not be known until the end of April," said Ubriaco, who joined the board in 2003. "Until my term ends, I will keep working for the people of the Elmhurst Park District and, most definitely in any case, after the election regardless of outcome."

Ubriaco was referring to April 27, when the results are certified. But her email was before the county clerk's office said the unofficial results would be known Monday.
