Ariana Grande ‘evolves’ her Pete Davidson tattoo

Don’t call it a cover-up.

Ariana Grande added yet another tattoo to her vast collection — this time, by embellishing an existing design dedicated to her former fiance Pete Davidson.

The “Thank U, Next” singer, 25, called upon her favorite tattoo artist, Mira Mariah, to create a leaf design that crawls horizontally across her rib cage. Grande said the design was inked at 3 a.m. after she was done rehearsing for her tour, which kicks off Monday in Albany. She also pointed out that one of the leaves wraps around her “always” tattoo, which was created in Davidson’s handwriting.

“Not a cover up just evolvin,” Grande captioned an Instagram photo showing off her new ink.

The pop star has altered some of her other tattoos she got with Davidson, however. Grande covered a hand tat that matched her ex’s with an olive branch, replaced Davidson’s late father’s NYFD badge number with “Myron” (the name of her dog) and covered up the word “pete” on her left ring finger with a black heart.

With more than 20 tattoos covering her hands, neck, legs and chest, the singer shows no signs of stopping — despite a recent flub. In an attempt to commemorate the release of her song “7 rings,” Grande tattooed kanji characters on her palm, but was quickly lambasted because the Japanese translation was actually more akin to “tiny barbecue grill” than the track’s title. She attempted to fix it and said her tattoo was “done out of love and appreciation,” not cultural appropriation.

Meanwhile, Davidson, who has moved on from Grande with Kate Beckinsale, is busy altering his own body art. In addition to covering his Grande-inspired bunny ears tattoo with a huge black heart, he’s also inked the word “cursed” over his old “mille tendresse” tat, which is French for “a thousand tendernesses” and matches Grande’s.

However, it looks like Davidson is also keeping his “always” tattoo — written in what appears to be Grande’s handwriting — intact.
