'Back off!' Geoffrey Edelsten's ex-wife Gabi Grecko DEFENDS her right to call herself a 'grieving widow' - and reveals the real reason why they cut contact for years before his death

Gabi Grecko has lashed out at critics for questioning the way she's been expressing her grief online following the death of her late estranged husband, Geoffrey Edelsten.

Posting to Instagram on Friday, the 32-year-old insisted she has every right to call herself a 'grieving widow', despite having no contact with Geoffrey for the past few years.  

'It's interesting people saying I didn't see Geoffrey for two years. How?' she began.

'Did you hear about that pandemic last year??? When all the borders were closed and the Australian border is still closed. People, not all, but some, back off,' she continued.  

Gabi went on to insist that she and Geoffrey 'were still married', and claimed she'll get the paperwork to prove it. 

'I'll get documents, but still [this is] not some of y'all's business. Some of u looking at my page should stop - you weren't in my situation [sic],' she wrote.

The red-head also corroborated recent reports Geoffrey was being blackmailed by a prostitute named Sonja to cut contact with Gabi in 2018. 

'He was also being blackmailed not to talk to me and was very ill,' she wrote.  

Gabi - who has uploaded a slew of photos and videos of herself twerking and posing in raunchy outfits on Instagram since Geoffrey's passing - hit back at trolls questioning the way she's been showing her grief.

'This has not been easy. I'm so fkin sick of people telling me how I do and don't feel (this post does not apply to everyone) don't tell me how to grieve, how to feel, that I didn't love him, you've never been in my shoes please back off those that have absolutely nothing to say,' she declared. 

'I will grieve in a healthy way however I choose to. But death and loss is a big thing for me please stop the bs.' 

Geoffrey was found dead aged 78 by a cleaner at his Melbourne apartment on Friday, June 11 - the anniversary of his wedding to Gabi.

He was buried on Wednesday in a traditional Jewish ceremony, where one mourner remembered him as trusting man whom others would take advantage of.

He was 72 and she was only 26 when they tied the knot in an elaborate wedding ceremony. 

But their marriage proved to be short-lived, with the former couple splitting just a few months later.
