Combining art with technology, Culturespaces turns traditional exhibitions into immersive experiences. Through the use of unique multimedia equipment, the company crafts and curates digital shows that “add dynamism to artistic practices, amplify emotions, and reach the largest possible audience.” For Atelier des Lumières, its latest permanent exhibition, Culturespaces has magically transformed a former iron foundry in Paris into a wonderland of Austrian art.

Aptly outfitted with a title that translates to “workshop of light,” the Atelier des Lumières will feature 3,000 moving images produced by 20 laser video projectors. In La Halle, one of the exhibition spaces, viewers will be dazzled by larger-than-life depictions of Viennese masterpieces. In addition to pieces by prolific painters like Egon Schiele and Friedensreich Hundertwasser, this spectacular space will showcase the glistening gold paintings of Gustav Klimt.

With the iconic The Kiss painting as the centerpiece, this homage to Klimt will focus on his Golden Phase, presenting guests with the glimmering scenes and sumptuous swirls characteristic of the artist. In addition to his well-known works on canvas, this immersive experience will also feature projections of his epic Beethoven Frieze, allowing “many visitors who have never had the opportunity to visit the Secession Palace in Vienna to behold the iconic figures in Klimt’s frescoes.”

In Le Studio, another exhibition space, Atelier des Lumières will feature work by contemporary artists who, like Klimt, “are capable of creating unique visual worlds.” This fascinating pairing creatively showcases the relationship between the old and the new, illustrating the “marriage of art and digital technology” and giving us a glimpse of what's inevitably in store for exhibitions to come.

Atelier des Lumières, the latest digital exhibition by Culturespaces, features a spectacular selection of Klimt art.
