Alyssa Milano is fighting back against claims she wore blackface in a 2013 parody video.
Defending herself on Twitter, the 47-year-old actress explained that the video was from a “Funny Or Die” skit she appeared in parodying Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from “Jersey Shore.”
“Hey, a..holes. The below picture is me parodying Jersey Shore and Snookie’s [sic] tan,” Milano tweeted on Tuesday. “Snookie’s [sic] tan (she is a sweetheart by the way) is worthy of parodying as is [President] Trump’s ‘tan.’ So go f..k yourselves with your smear campaign.”
She also included a link to a one-minute clip from the video, documenting her transformation into the reality star who, like the other “Jersey Shore” cast members, turned tanning into an art form.
In recent weeks, celebrities have come under fire for wearing blackface, including Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and YouTube star Jenna Marbles, while shows like “30 Rock” and “Golden Girls” have pulled episodes that feature it.
