UPDATED 5/25, 12:40 p.m. ET: The Houston Rockets have confirmed that Chris Paul is out for Game 6 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors with a right hamstring strain. The duration of his injury is still unclear at this time.

See original story below.

On Thursday night the Houston Rockets pulled off another hard fought 98-94 victory against the Golden State Warriors to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals. Despite pulling off a second straight win, this time on their home floor, a dark cloud loomed over the outcome due to Chris Paul sustaining a right hamstring injury in the final minutes of the game, leaving his status questionable for a potential series-clinching Game 6.

According to Associated Press' Tim Reynolds, Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni says CP3 is "worried" about his injury.

The injury occurred with around 50 seconds left in Game 5. Paul attempted a floater and fell to the floor awkwardly. He couldn't even get up to get back on defense in the crucial final moments and limped around until being taken out seconds later.

Paul did not even address the media post game because he was busy receiving treatment. As far as the point guard's status for Game 6 goes, "We'll see. He'll be evaluated tomorrow," D'Antoni told Sports Illustrated'sBen Golliver. "They'll do whatever they can do. If he's there [for Game 6], great, good for him... His spirits aren't great. He wanted to be out there. That's normal."

Despite his worries about the injury in the midst of the most important playoff series of his career, Paul still seems confident he will take the floor Saturday night to help the Rockets take down the loaded Warriors squad.

CP3 has been the leader for this Rockets team all season and despite the naysayers referencing his questionable playoff resume has provided a spark for the team throughout the playoffs—especially in this series. Before going down Thursday night, Paul provided 20 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, and a legendary mocking of Stephen Curry's shimmy celebration directly in his face after draining a difficult three-pointer.

Hopefully, CP3 will be available as the Rockets attempt to close out the Warriors this Saturday, May 26 at Oracle Arena for Game 6 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals.
