WATCH: Oklahoma Bail Agent Retrieves Gun, Shoots Client Dead

Payne County, Oklahoma, prosecutors have released video of bail agent Chasity Dawn Carey retrieving a handgun and shooting 38-year-old James Williams dead.

The video was released after Carey was acquitted of first-degree murder charges over the August 9, 2017, shooting.

News 4 reports that Williams had been released on $35,000 bail and still owed Carey $3,500. He sent her a text which made her think he was going to skip town soon, so she got him to come to her office where she planned to arrest him.

Video shows Williams become agitated, once in the office, eventually fleeing arrest by heading out a window. Carey retrieved her handgun and shot Williams as he tried to escape.

Williams can be heard saying, “Holy sh*t,” after being shot.

After Carey’s acquittal, defense attorney Emilie Kirkpatrick told The Oklahoman, “[The jury] had a very difficult time with the way the case was charged and could not find the element required in murder one of malice aforethought. I have nothing but the highest praise for this jury. They stuck by the law that they were given.”
