Former Belgian King Albert II admits he fathered love child over 50 years ago

She’s finally a princess — at age 51.

Belgium’s former king has admitted he fathered a love child more than 50 years ago — after spending decades denying a local artist’s claim that she is his illegitimate daughter.

The stunning about-face by the 85-year-old ex-monarch came after a DNA test proved he is the biological father of Delphine Boel, 51.

His lawyers said he decided “to put an end, with honor and dignity, to this painful procedure.”

“Legally, he will end the legal battle there and accept that Delphine Boel is his fourth child,” they said in a statement Monday.

Boel is now entitled to call herself a princess, according to The Telegraph newspaper — not to mention a cut of his fortune, reportedly estimated to be worth hundreds of millions.

One of his lawyers confirmed to local news that Boel would now be included in Albert’s royal will.

“The king will treat all his children as equal,” Alain Berenboom said, according to CNN.

Boel, an artist, claimed Albert was her real dad for two decades before turning to the courts over his paternity.

She has maintained her aristocratic mother, Sybille de Selys Longchamps, had an affair with Albert between 1966 and 1984.

The former royal agreed in May to take a DNA test after a Brussels court slapped him with a fine of 5,000 euros ($5,500) for each day he refused.

Boel was raised by her mother’s husband, Jacques Boel, and had won a court decision that he was not her “legal father.”

Albert in the past had acknowledged marital problems with his wife, Queen Paola, in the 1970s — but never admitted to having an extramarital affair.

He has three children with Paola, including Belgium’s current King Philippe.

Boel’s lawyer Marc Uyttendaele told RTL television that Boel waged her paternity battle “to avoid her children carrying this weight.”

“She had a biological father who brutally rejected her when this paternity publicly emerged,” the lawyer said.

Uyttendaele also slammed the former king’s statement owning up to fathering Boel, saying it “is characterized by a lack of elegance, a lack of humanity … the statement continues to confirm this lack of love.”

Albert took over the throne following the death of his older brother, King Baudouin, in 1993. He was king for 20 years until he abdicated in 2013 for health reasons — and lost legal immunity from Boel’s claims.
