Grand Forks Public Schools has received a $10,000 grant from the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.

The funds will be used to help Native American students with fees related to after-school care, band instruments, electronic devices, college applications, testing, sports, and lunch tickets.

Funds may also be used to cover the cost of hosting cultural events for the Grand Forks community, according to a news release from the school district.

The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is a federally recognized, sovereign Indian tribe located in north-central North Dakota.
