A 20-year-old patient in an Indian hospital was allegedly gang-raped by a doctor and other medical staff before being murdered.
In the latest horrific sex attack to shock the nation, the woman reportedly told her parents that she was attacked at the private hospital in Manjhanpur, Uttar Pradesh, shortly before her death.
When her father reported the incident to the hospital management he was told his daughter was mentally ill.
Following her death, her father met with senior district officials and sought a probe into the matter, according to The Deccan Herald.
The alleged gang-rape and murder is now under police investigation.
But the doctor and other staff members who were allegedly involved in the attack have now fled.

The 20-year-old victim, from Kokhraj, in Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to the private hospital with fever and stomach pain.
A senior district official in Kaushambi, in Utter Pradesh, said action will be taken.
He said: 'We will take stern action against the accused persons.
'The license of the hospital will be cancelled.'
But the hospital manager Sanjiv Kumar rejected the allegations and said it was a 'conspiracy'.

The 2012 gang-rape and murder of Jyoti Singh on a bus in New Delhi horrified India and sparked nationwide protests, but sexual violence against women across the country is rife.
About 90 rapes are reported every day in India according to data by the National Crime Records Bureau, but many are thought to go unreported due to fear and stigma.
Last week, a 21-year-old female patient was allegedly raped while semi-conscious in an Indian hospital's intensive care unit while being treated for tuberculosis.
In another shocking attack, a 17-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped for 22 days on an Indian farm after being abducted when she ran away from home.
