MEDFORD, MA — Middlesex District Attorney announced that her office along with the Massachusetts State Police, is investigating a fatal multi-car accident that took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.

The crash, which happened on Interstate Route 93 near Roosevelt Circle, reportedly involved five vehicles, including a Ford dump truck with a trailer. The truck driver, 34-year-old Fredis Saravia-Corvera, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in one of the other vehicles was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Ryan, evidence suggests that the driver of a black Toyota Camry involved in the accident may have initiated the crash with erratic driving.
