Authorities are reminding residents and visitors to lock cars and take valuables or keep them in the trunk following a string of vehicle prowls this weekend.
Duluth police responded to the Edgewater Hotel and Waterpark at 6:30 a.m. Sunday for six vehicle prowls and one vehicle theft, according to department spokesperson Ingrid Hornibrook. All six cars were unlocked, she said, and there is no video of the incident so identifying suspects will be difficult.
"Thieves will walk away empty handed if you remove valuables such as purses, wallets, cell phones, electronic devices and any other item of value," the department posted on Facebook Monday. "Don’t let your vehicle be an easy target and allow these thieves to take the things you worked hard for."
