Former Bergenfield Schools Counselor, Wyckoff Resident Dies At 77

WYCKOFF, NJ — A former guidance counselor within Bergen Public Schools and a Wyckoff resident passed away last week at 77 years old.

Sema Alaimo, who loved being outside with nature and taking photos of everything she saw, died on Sept. 9, her obituary said. She also had a great love of chocolate, her friends and family, and the Jersey Shore, and she was “always willing to help others.”

Born in Paterson, Alaimo is predeceased by her husband John and sister, and she is survived by her daughters, son-in-law and granddaughters. Family was at her bedside when she died, her obituary said.
